CFL Launch Ultra Matt Finish Surface for Resilient Flooring Products
With consumer trend that are increasingly seeking for more natural aesthetic flooring designs, there is a new market niche where consumers are in favor for low gloss and matte finishes for their flooring, whether it be hard wood floors, laminate floors or luxury vinyl floorings. To respond this increasing market niche, CFL has launched its latest coating technology application at the International Surface Event, displaying resilient LVT and SPC flooring with ultra matt finish options.

According to CFL president Thomas Baert, this ultra matt surface LVT flooring is particularly suitable for large commercial projects due to its appearance in low gloss finishes. Baert further explained that many resilient flooring brands and manufacturers initially try to achieve a low-gloss appearance by adding a matting agent to the finish, but this method does not provide complete control over the gloss level. Younger generations are more inclined to appreciate low-gloss surfaces, associating them with the appealing Scandinavian aesthetic.
The collection, NaturTrend, will be introduced in the U.S. market in the first quarter of 2023.
CFL’s approach to showcasing low gloss has proven effective. Their display method presents a standard low gloss plank alongside one finished with NaturTrend. Observing these two different gloss levels in natural light allows consumers to clearly see the remarkable difference between the new technology and the traditional low gloss matte finish.
