Introduction to 5th G-Core Waterproof Laminate Flooring

The 5th G-Core Waterproof Laminate flooring is made from a new type of material composition that is made from natural minerals, eproxy resins. This new composition of plank material provide significantly higher performance for moisture durability and waterproof performance.
How is the 5th G-Core Laminate flooring different from conventional laminate flooring?
Conventional laminate flooring is made from highly compressed wood fiber that is generally referred as High Density Fiberboard (HDF). Conventional HDF laminate flooring is an affordable flooring option as it provide very competitive pricing as well as offering wide range of aesthetic wood and stone pattern designs. The flexibility in design choices has made laminate flooring popular in the market.
Both the 5th G-core laminate flooring and HDF based laminate flooring has the same surface performance as it has the same structure and material when it comes to the protective overlayer and decor paper layer. Therefore when it comes to scratch performance both type of laminate flooring offers the same grade performance, and can be classified into AC2, AC3, AC4, AC5 scratch resistance grades accordingly.
The distinct difference is solely on the composition make up of the core plank material. The 5th G-Core is made from a combination of natural minerals, epoxy resin and fibers, given that the resin has an adhesive effect when compressed in heat, the 5th G-core plank is considered glue free, plasticizer free, and has zero formaldehyde emission. The 5th G-core also has significantly higher waterproof performance as the plank does not absorb moisture and therefore has greater performance when it comes to dimensional stability and curling.
Water Absorption Rate in 5th G-core Laminate Flooring & HDF based Laminate flooring
Currently there are two main type of HDF based laminate flooring. The standard HDF laminate flooring generally has between 12% to 18% moisture absorption rate. Another HDF laminate flooring that is referred as the Black Core Laminate Flooring has moisture absorption rate under 10%. 5th G-Core laminate flooring, which is generally referred as Mineral Fiber Board (MFB) laminate flooring has moisture absorption rate below 1% rate.
